Owner Experience

Care, Communication and Community

Owning a yacht in the AYC charter fleet is kind of like having a personal assistant for your boat—minus the awkward small talk. Whether you’re the “hand me a wrench” type or the “I’ll be there Friday, please make it shiny” type, we’ve got you covered. You get monthly updates and a private portal to track revenue, bookings, and service expenses. And the best part? You join a fun-loving community that proves yacht owners know how to have a good time.

Hands-On or Hands-Off. It’s Your Choice.

AYC can manage every detail of your yacht’s charter life… unless you’re the “I’ve got a tool bag and I’m not afraid to use it” type. Local owners sometimes enjoy tackling small projects on their own, or with guidance from our tech team. Remote owners usually prefer to let us handle everything.

Wherever you land on the spectrum—from DIY skipper to hands-off cruiser or somewhere in between—our certified technicians and vessel management program are here to support you. Just need some advice or guidance? You got it. Prefer our Service Team to take the helm on all maintenance? We’re on it. In a jam and need a bit of help? We can jump in there too. No matter what, nothing is done without your approval.

Professional Care

We keep your yacht in reliable, charter-ready condition with seasonal inspections, ongoing maintenance, and quick action whenever issues arise. Our service options include:

  • Routine maintenance
  • Repairs and upgrades
  • Parts sourcing
  • System checks
  • Winter Watch
  • Emergency response

Turn-Key Owner Use

When you reserve your yacht, we prepare it for departure—cleaned, fueled (according to your program), and ready to cast off when you arrive. Food, drinks, and the perfect playlist? That part’s all you.

Owner Communication

You’ll always know how your yacht is performing. Monthly statements, a private Owner Quarters web portal, and an Owner Newsletter provide:

  • Charter revenue
  • Maintenance and service expenses
  • Future bookings
  • Upcoming service recommendations
  • Future Events

Community & Events

AYC owners don’t just join a fleet—they join a floating social club with better views and no secret handshakes.

Our annual Owner Rendezvous is a three-day gathering in the San Juan Islands where you can swap stories, meet the AYC crew, and participate in world-famous* competitions like:

  • The Blindfolded Dinghy Race (it’s like a trust fall, but with rowing)
  • The highly prestigious Model Sailboat Regatta (where pride is on the line for speed and decoration)
  • The AYC Banquet, where the food is plentiful, the stories get taller, and someone may win an award they didn’t know existed.
  • Tech seminars so you can know more about boats and boating
  • And… Muffins and Mimosas, the perfect way to launch the first full day of festivities

Throughout the year, you can also jump into events like the Anacortes Lighted Boat Parade, because nothing says “festive spirit” like decorating your vessel with antlers or a red nose.

It’s all part of being in a community of boat lovers who take boating seriously—but not too seriously.

*Okay…not actually world-famous, but definitely memorable and occasionally infamous.

Your Home Port Matters

Mooring in Anacortes gives you and your charter guests unmatched access to the Pacific Northwest’s most celebrated cruising grounds:

  • San Juan Islands
  • Gulf Islands
  • Sunshine Coast
  • Desolation Sound

AYC’s location places you close to the prime mooring in the San Juan Islands — through protected waters — maximizing time on the water and minimizing time in transit for you and charter guests.

You enjoy boating. We can handle the rest.

“We bought our boat for family time, not endless boat projects. AYC gets that. Every time we show up, the boat is clean, fueled, and ready for adventure. We spend our weekends exploring the islands instead of scrubbing decks. Charter ownership has turned boating from a once-in-a-while treat into a lifestyle we can enjoy all year long – when WE want!”

The Carter Family

“I know who to call.”

“After upgrading to a bigger boat, I needed to learn how to drive it and get work done. We took a boating class with AYC to get started and after putting the boat in charter I get a little coaching now and then from the AYC Fleet Captains and other owners too. And when the boat needs work, I know who to call. The service techs are great to work with and either give me tips, or do all the work when I need it.”
