Things You Should Know

Important information to know about your charter before, during, and after your trip, including on your charter start day.

Travel Insurance

We encourage you to consider a Travel Protection Plan. A variety of insurance options are available. Here are a few companies we recommend:
TRIP ASSURE: Travel Insurance details, quote and certificate
TRIP INSURE 101: Cancel for Any Reason Travel Insurance quotes

Daily Damage Fee, P&I Insurance

A non-refundable Daily Damage Fee (waiver) and Protection and Indemnity Insurance fee’s are assessed with every charter.  Please see coverage and exclusions on our How to Book page.

Pet Policy

We frequently receive inquiries about the possibility of accommodating pets on our charter boats. Because most boat owners are hesitant to allow pets on board, our standard Charter Contract explicitly excludes them. However, with advance notice, we do have a limited selection of boats that may permit small to medium dog breeds weighing under 25 lbs. These dogs must be freshly groomed, with short clipped nails, be boat savvy, and must be at least one year old.
For those interested in bringing an approved pet, a non-refundable Pet Cleaning Fee of $250 will be added to your Charter Contract. Any damages caused to the yacht by the pet will result in the charterer being charged for all repair costs.

Marine Animal Protection

Responsible boating includes helping to protect marine mammals and other animals that can be adversely affected by boaters.

Regulations and guidelines help to clarify details like safe viewing distance, boat speed, appropriate behavior, sanctuary zones, fishing closures, and more. These requirements may be different in the United States and Canada, are subject to change, may vary by species, and may include temporary requirements.

For example, starting in 2025, Washington boaters will be required to stay 1,000 yards away from Southern Resident killer whales.

It is your responsibility to know and follow all current requirements or guidelines. Fines and penalties may be imposed for violations.
